All rock biographies are the same. Even speaking as someone who’s bookshelf is crammed with the things, it seems every ageing artist and their ghost-writer have cottoned onto a formula as tried and tested as verse/chorus/bridge/fade when it comes to recounting their debauched odyssey.

And it’s always a debauched odyssey.
